Does the license plate grind in left hand corners, or is it hinged?
not hip on the seat either, easy fix.
ditto on the license plate holder. eventually back to stock tail light/license plate bracket.
oh, and cut me some slack, Jack. i've haven't even gotten the damn thing yet!

Supposedly some of those tractor style seats are actually quite comfortable. No pressure points because they are ergonomically shaped (like a mold of your ass!).

In 1994 I bought a new teal Sportster. In 1995 a car turned left in front of me.
The bike was a mess, it needed a new frame and engines cases so I decided to have a little fun with it.
This bike was fun!!

Not mine, but the only Harley I've ever considered looks decent:

It's mine and I appreciate that.
The MoCo got it real right with the Iron and base 883s as a whole
proving once again that less is often more.

Your Iron is decidely enhanced by your excellent photographic rendition.
Has a bit if the HDR look about it. My 07 883R should look so good, though
I am doing a few things to help it's ADVability.

I'm liking it a great deal, New Ride.
It's Sporty # 3 for me and the first that has retained its' 883 status.
It's perfect for loping around town or cruising the shore roads.
If you don't ask too much of it, it will deliver big time.
If you're into aggressive riding, it's probably going to disappoint.
If you want to tilt the horizion at all on it, I'd suggest new suspenders fore and aft. Braking can be improved with some steel lines.
Other than that, it delivers a nice hand of god feeling at your back right off the throttle and is about as mechanically simple as motorcycles get these days.
Looks are always a personal thing. I happen to think this is one of the most attarctive stock Sportys ever.

Good to hear that you are enjoying the new scoot. How are you liking the Progressives? I still haven't decided which shocks to go with.

I'm pretty happy with my 2006 XL883 standard model. I can lean it pretty far and haven't scraped yet. Here's my boring stock XL:
