Come on Pluric, take some time off work and go ride AZ with us. It's not Baja, but......it's not gonna suck either.

Good! Camper outside is done, body work is done, now I'm in the process of fixing a little oil leak I discovered when changing the timing belt. But the Sammy is on hold right now, I'm putting new piston/rings/valves in the KTM and prepping the bike for a 2000+mile AZ loop in March.

Question for any Utah riders. Does anyone local have a built XL650R that they are happy with? Mostly out of curiosity and/or to check it out... I'd also love to see pics!

thanks,
Andre

yup XRL, sorry about that...

I almost bought one in favor of the XRR. I keep telling myself I'm happy I made the decision I did, especially when riding it, but once in a while I tell myself the simplicity of the XRL would be nice.. :)

Yeah, I know, that's why I bought it... I'm just about 1/2 way through the process of making it closer to a XRL and it has me thinking about it, that's all... :)

I had an XR650R, and still have a great 1996 XR600R that is an air cooled bike like the XR650L. Great bike! But I like the fact that the XR650R was water cooled, especially when riding slow, techy stuff in the heat of Utah.

Those were great bikes...direct from the Iron Curtain. I raced one of these against them...250 Bul Pursang...

and in 74 bought one of these. Brought it to Utah and sold it. Sorry now...loved it. Rode it up mineral basin to the upper mine. It wasn't happy about it but ...

I was thinking to go around 11:00 am and leave at 3:00 pm, before it gets cold again.
