I know there's a ton of sporties on ADV. I'd rather see your modded-for-go bikes, but I'll take a looker too. I just think it's about time for another pro sportster rally. 883, 900, 1100, 1200 I don't care. I need ideas that don't involve more chrome, skulls or speedo-relocating. |

I LOVE the looks of those supertrapps for the solid mounts. Wish the new ones had those bends....

Lots of odds and ends since I've had it. Built the pipes. Cut off the stock rear fender struts, and built new fender mounts for the high fender. Progressive stock length springs up front, sock shocks out back. I'd like to lift the bike, actually. Tokico front 4-pot caliper from a GSXR and Brembo MC from an R6. Full floating rotors front and back. Dirt bike clutch lever by Moose Racing (slick as butter). Built the seat (want to build another, comfier seat). Etc... Etc... Etc...

would an oil cooler be a tad superfluous on a bike in upstate NY?

Thre's a reason the original XR's were called "waffle irons". Iron is really good at accepting heat, not so good at shedding it.

The Mustang I had on my '07 was far superior to the stocker on the 883.

I have a 73 Ironhead Sportster that I bought as a basket case. I still have to get it back together, so no pics yet.
When I got it, one of the engine cases was broken pretty badly, and it took a while to find one that I could/would actually pay for. Hopefully I can get it back together soon. I really liked the 72 that I used to have. |

Great thread. Miss my Sportster but almost certain to own another one day. My Buell gives me some connection at least.
