I don't mind the mods. I use the stock stuff cause I picked up 3 extra std's before they became scarce. Just fixen em up and riding.

Heritage's here had wire wheels with a 48-64 spoke count, whereas the Special II's had the standard spoke count. Both were great looking bikes. Parts of the bike(Heritage) were blacked out also.

The only mods to this one are K&N filters, Giriling shocks and the painted fenders. I had to put new gaskets, seals and oil filter screens in. |

Yep, Mikes XS has been great. I was going to put pistons and rings in but with 31k I de carbonized everything and measured the bores and pistons and all was well, so I left it alone.

At 31k the cam chain was fine, unfortunatly I got side lined for several months by a crash on road and the nice heavy coat of gasket remover spray that I applied the nite before said crash caused the chain to rust like a sumbitch, hence the new chain. I have an engine with over 50k on it and that cam chain is perfectly fine and I won't hesitat to reuse it.

Here's my 1970 XS1 in its original candy apple green paint....I did and had a lot of work done to her including an engine rebuild, fork rebuild, brakes rebuilt, new tires, all new wiring and countless other part replacements thanks to MikesXS.com. It runs great, but it is blowing its fuse after an hour of riding or so...so I still got work to do.
Its so cool lookin' I decided to park it in my family room for the winter. ![]() http://www.flickr.com/photos/2395615...7626143698072/ |
