Put some grease on the female terminals, all the crap coming off the front wheel seems to end up under the tank and corrode those leads.
I've had my tank off a couple of times in the last couple of years when it wouldn't start, cleaning the terminals fixed it. It impressed the guys I was with that I could whip the tank off that fast and fix it. Of course they had newish Jap bikes, so they don't get that vintage ownership vibe.. |

If the relay doesn't work once it's all wired up proper, there's no need to spring for the super expensive stock unit. The only difference between it and a normal (inexpensive) one is a couple of spades for connecting two totally disrelated leads - they have nothing to do with the relay with no connection internally.

I believe all the data is in the Airheads parts sticky thread at the top of the page. Without looking at the data, it's just a normally open relay, and the two blue wires (as wirewrkr said) just get connected together on their own.

I'd just call Rick at Motorad elektric....he'll fix you up. I had found an article on line on how to replace the relay with a GM A/C relay...my parts store didn't have the exact part but I fould a similar relay. Wired it up and it worked fine.....for a month or two. Three times the bike started cranking on it's own....with the key turned off! Luckily I was near the bike each time it happened. I got a different relay from Rick and paid less than i did at the local parts store.....it's been fine since.
