My top picks
Obvious choices:
The Big Lebowski Blade Runner Dust To Glory Groundhog Day The Jerk Kite Runner Less obvious choices: Under Suspicion (mystery drama with great actors) Amelie (nice eye candy, quirky, foreign) The devils Backbone (if you like scary, foreign) A Perfect World (Kevin Costner is escaped convict, kidnaps kid) |

I just found this movie call..
Law Abiding Citizen is kind of a police thriller but also very twisted and fun to watch

The Snow Walker (7.5) - "A pilot and his passenger struggle for survival after crashing in the Arctic tundra." 4*'s
...looking at my list on page 1 I'd say the films rated by IMDB at 8.0 or higher are the 5* movies - the notable exception is "The World's Fastest Indian which they rate at 7.9 as this is one of my favorite films (but we all have our own ratings anyway).

Groovy thread. Our DVD player is not currently speaking to the surround sound/audio doohickey, and we've been running really low on streaming content.
Warning: Content may included repeated movies, because I didn't read this entire thread. Also, I am a girl, so expect some chick choices. In no particular order... The Big Lebowski March of the Penguins Best In Show Friday Boys Don't Cry Full Metal Jacket Au Revoir Les Enfants Sleepers Steel Magnolias Babies Midnight In the Garden of Good and Evil Dangerous Liaisons Fierce People The Right Stuff Sunshine Cleaning Julie & Julia Blazing Saddles Strange Brew The September Issue Vanity Fair A Fish Called Wanda Blah blah blah... PS - UP is the most emotionally draining movie I have ever seen. :) |

FlashForward (8.0) "After the entire world's population blacks out for approximately 2 minutes and 17 seconds, which in effect causes the entire world to see a glimpse of life 6 months into the future" (4*'s+)
Daybreakers (6.5) Normally I avoid vampire movies but this was different. My wife chose it and at first I did not want to watch but it is quite entertaining for what it is. (4*'s)

And for the Kiddos or the "Kiddo inside of you" this "Animated" Shaun_the_Sheep series is really good.
