Thanks for throwing this up. Borrowed a friend's Arai XD3 and the shape doesn't fit that well (forehead pressure and too tight cheek pads). Could you comment on either what shape head the FX-39 fits best (if you know) or what helmets fit similarly to it?

The head shape has been reported to be more American or oval like with good room front to back. Less squeeze on the forehead like the 37. I sure hope so since I'm long oval and very practiced in the use of spoons and knives on helmets. It would be nice for it to just fit out of the box like a Shark RSI

I like the idea of the quick release. I miss that feature I had on the Nolan N102. If it works like the Nolan latch that will be a big plus for me. I liked the one hand chin strap or being able to work it with gloves on.

I put my name on a XXL Silver one, hopefully I'll have a report in a few weeks.

AFX has told us that these are a typical North America oval fit, more similar to Shoei than Arai. In the fittings we have done this week, I feel that is correct. Recently I wore Bell, Zox, Airoh, Fox, all long ovals, and the AFX fits similar.

(fyi I wore Arai ONLY for 20 years, and put up with the forehead pressure...)

Note that the cheekpads can be changed on most helmets, and usually correct fit issues there. Arai gets this better than anyone, they do a great job.

We got a few, but not all, not yet. Due in to the importer Monday. We are being told the initial order is too small, and some sizes / colors will sell out.

Does the faceshield snug up to the gasket? IIRC that was an issue on the FX-37 models. Concerned about helmet leaking in the rain and roosters

The front area is sealed, as the shield wraps there is some toward the back. This is normal.

Is the underside of the peak/visor black on the "Strike Multi-Black" version? From the pictures it looks like all the other "Strike" graphic colors have a white underside on the peak/visor.

I've never had a helmet with a peak/visor and am unsure if a white underside would be worse, as far as reflecting light, than a black undersided visor?

This would dictate my color choice as I don't want additional light reflecting off the bottom back into my eyes - clear as mud

?

Does anyone have any input on the position of the chin strap on the 39 vs the 37?
The 37 seems quite far back and a few people who tried my 37 could not wear it because of this. Felt like it was strangling them. Doesn't seem to bother me.

I sent my 37 back because of the strap. I am hoping the 39 will be better with the ratchet strap. I like that strap on my Nolan helmet.

Sorry guys, I do not have the 37, hard for me to give comparative info. I will take a pic of the helmet on a wearer and post it up tomorrow.
