My son about 4 years ago, wearing his mothers gear . I should have kept that bike. He's big enough now to ride it. He has the desire, and license but no $ for a bike. I'm thinking about buying a used KLR so he can go with me.

Dad and I, in Alaska in 2010. This is his driveway. Fun ride we are doing it again in 2012...we were going to do it this year but I figure its family vacation time.

I'm not in this one, but that's my son with his first "bike". He actually learned to ride this thing before he learned to ride a bicycle.

A day of "firsts" with my younger son today. First singletrack ride, first ride in snow, first day he could start, lift, and shift his bike himself.

The last couple of years, my oldest and I have taken two weeks off and traveled around the country. These are from our 2009 ride:

Outside Dooley's Cafe, Boonesville, Owsley Cnty, Kentucky....from where my family came from

Followed a 2-track to the top of the ridge above the Little Sturgeon and found the old family cemetery. THis is a modern stone placed on the graves of Great-great grandparents

From Owsley County over thru the Smokies to Cherokee, NC. Had to go by way of the Dragon, of course

From Cherokee, NC, we followed the Trail of Tears all the way out to Okmulgee, OK..

This is a great, heart warming thread. If you are a Dad, be good to your boys and tell them you love them. If you are a son, do the same. One day, they may not be there. Don't wait.
