I found a factory spoke wheel for sale I may lace it up on the stock front hub. I like the way it rides and handles with the 17 on 17 set up. I just buy 2 rear tires now at a time.. Its not as nice as your build but as close as my wallet is going to let me get..

as far as the money end of it goes on the rat bike, my idea is always to do it on the cheap...not much in the way of brand new anything in these builds. |

phase one winding down on this rat build. the bike runs really well, and i just have a short list of minor items to complete. phase two is the armor and panniers, but as i was moving things around in the shop, i took a minute for an "after" photo of the super cheap parts bike that donated the cop motor and related parts to this build.
not much left, and what is left seems impossibly small. the rat is way taller all the way around. now to sell some parts...

So when are you going to point that Rat bike towards destinations west?

going down my short list, i had to mount the power outlets to the bar riser bolts. i had already turned the outlets around 180 in the bracket for use with the Verrsys tank, but when i went to mount the bracket...oops, the upper bolts are spaced 10mm wider on center, now i need a new bracket instead of a 5 minute job.
old on left, new on right.

August sounds great. I'm swamped early this year also. I haven't got the suspension on yet. If your mechanic has some free time I'll hire him.David

Your kinda hard on the help. First the painter, then the glass man, and now the mechanic.
