Okay so when I finally got the computer issues cleared up I loaded the akra map onto my 08 that has Q4's on it. Much better throttle response and noticed no hunting between 3500-4000 rpm range. Worried that my mileage is gonna take a hit but rides better so for now I will monitor it and go from there. This program is very nice......just wish I had a better handle on tuning......guessing that this bike could really be cleaned up by someone who has a clue!!!

Running the 07-08 map and O2 sensors are disabled.......I believe Dusty has had good luck with the Akra map with 02 sensors enabled so that will probably be my next move since I am a novice with programming.

I installed the '07-08' akra map yesterday...O2's disabled...I'm running a 2into1 & adv aux tank....big trip this weekend will give me a good idea of how the mileage is affected. My first experience with this map and dual wings gave me dismal mpg's (30-35). I will say throttle response is smoother........

Drivers help
Scroll down until you see the version of Windows you have, most likely 32 bit, 2.08.14.
Click that bad boy and that should bring up a open or save box. Save and then open and install. http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/D2XX.htm If that doesn't work PM me and I can email the drivers to you. Hang in there, it's worth it!!!!! shootis screwed with this post 04-28-2011 at 06:34 PM |

for the those in the know... How do the to maps work together
Which map does the bike run on if just cruising along using very little throttle at say, 4000 rpm. Is this the F1 and F2 map as we see it in the software. Then does it switch to the L1 & L2 map when the throttle is whacked open? When the o2's are disabled does the bike run on just the F1 & F2 map only? Also the F Trim table in the software... I see that this adjusts the F1 & F2 fuel tales a percentage. So if a person wanted to add a bit of fuel to the base map would they do it on the F Trim table so the base map values are left to the original numbers and could easily see what changes that were made on the F Trim table? Or just make the changes to the F maps?

What bike?
Has it been remaped with another software. The volts on the bikes battery look low as do the batteries on your laptop, is what is see from the screenshot. I always have both hooked up to external power. You always want to open Tune ECU with a map open also.

Bike is 2007 990A and dealer has put some sort of ackra map to it last year.
Actually that icon tels that laptop is connected to charger. And yes I agree that bike should also be connected to external power. Why should you open a map file first? Works faster? |

The 40 ratings were all on the stock map with stock exhaust....going to the Q4's on the stock map knocked mileage down to high 30's (though early in the season with more idle time to warm up). Worried the Akra tune is gonna be way low.......time will tell.
