Ural riders will be gathering on Marrowstone Island in Puget Sound in late June for a weekend at the beach. Marrowstone Island is by Port Townsend on the Olympic Peninsula. There are plenty of great Ural roads around including a lot of Forest Service roads. Marrowstone Island, while an island, connects by bridge to the mainland. The weekend is a low key blend of Russian machines, good companionship, and great food.

This is an annual event with Urals returning to a collection of beach cottages, the "Ecologic Place," on the south end of the Island, right on the water. There is a main lodge that we've rented for the group to use. There is seafood feast on Saturday night. Friday night, we head to the Ajax Cafe in nearby Port Hadlock.

In the past we have had as many as 25 rigs there. No need to have a Ural or even a sidecar to come. It's a great place for kids, with a great low tide beach. (Late June has some of the lowest tides of the year.)

Space is limited. We have arranged with the owners of the Beach Cottages, Steve and Allison Willing, for use of the entire place: all the cabins plus the Lodge. There are beds for 29+ people. Cots for sleeping bags are possible. Limited tent camping might be allowed, as this is outside the normal operations of “The Ecologic Place.”

The Texas Ural Riders Division (the T.U.R.D.'s) of the Soviet Steeds, in conjunction with the Texas/Louisiana members of the United Sidecar Association, are hosting a spring muster (a/k/a the Spring T.U.R.D.) for sidecar enthusiats at the Rusk Texas KOA Friday-Sunday, May 13-15, 2011.

A rally fee is not planned. No specific rally plans have been set, but a ride to eat is surely in the mix. Please make you own camping lodging reservations.

Folks have requested we re-do the Manchester Rally (Manchester, California. KOA..Google it)....so we shall. ,
Previous dates were the 3rd weekend in September which I'm all for...those dates would be Friday/Sat/Sunday the 23rd, 24th and 25th. Other option is the 2nd weekend...Sept 9th, 10th and 11th (Friday/Sat/Sunday). If there are any strong preferences let me know ASAP, otherwise I will make an executive decision for the 3rd weekend.
No matter what, this is the PRIMO time on the California coast. Warm(ish....) non-foggy days, cool nights!!

LOTS of great local rides (Ft Bragg, Pt Arena Lighthouse, Mendocino, etc, etc.)

Again, we will try to occupy the tent area (9$-night) and the cabins in "the loop". I am not going to be the mother hen here.
You will be required to make you own reservations, and (if it goes like last year... ) there will be lots of people told it'll be $35/night for a tent site. It won't be. Relax. Mmm-kay?
Don't want to be making 73 calls to Machester this time. It'll all work out.

We will again supply beans, brats and applesauce for Friday for those interested.
(I will not be responsible for gas produced.... )

This is 5 point stop to Parksville BC and return. Following is pig roast, dance, 50/50 draws, raffles, triathalon [pool, darts, horseshoes] We have a large licensed back yard. All funds raised go to Wounded Warriors Organization.
