So i am to guess then that i should take the 1.8 amps and figure it out.? Which equals 21.6 watts..

Ok ,,, so i'm not good at math i never tried to be, but by looking online i found that you take amps x voltage (AC or DC) = wattage.
So are you saying that to get the model name thats what was done,,,, or i did the math wrong and by taking the 1.8 amps he has listed on the site i am coming up with the wrong wattage.? ![]() I just rolled out of bed so hopefully that makes sense.

You're overanalyzing this.
You got the right calculation and you performed it correctly. At 1.8 amps these lamps by rights will burn 1.8(Amps) * 12(Volts) to get you 21.6 Watts per lamp. You received a mildly snarky response suggesting that if you double it and round up you'll get to the model number (21.6 * 2 = 43.2, round up and you get 44) . There's not much more to it than that. I have no idea if the model numbers are related to power consumption in real life, or if it's just an amusing coincidence.

Because they are meant to be used in pairs. That's why doubling the numbers gets you to the model # 44.

Why does it matter what the model number means? Most model numbers mean little if nothing anyhow. They are awesome lights and I am sure to be ordering a few more sets for my other bikes shortly.

I gave the Spring promotion code to a friend and when they tried to order this morning, your site said the code was expired or invalid. I thought it was good through the end of May

I'd like to see a bit larger diameter LED light with on-road beam pattern (fog and driving light) and proper cut-off, similar to BMW/Hella 14W accessory LED's but more powerful.
I'd mount both driving and fog light, the '44' is bright but beam is so focused. I think ~100lumens/Watt is state of the art right now. |

Can you use one dimmer for two different lights (ie a 30 and 44) or will that cause one to be much brighter than the other?
What type of LED are they - semiled or CREE? |

Those are really bright lights. Would you have a pic with both the LED's and the turn signals on? They aren't being washed out by the LED's are they?

Good question, and it has been debated here. I have moved them down to the lower forks since this pic was taken...that was an opportunistic mount location since there were some matching holes in the shield I put on. My opinion is like yours, it would wash out the turn signals if they were on when you needed to signal, which is why I moved them, even though I liked them being high. I have some leds above the turn signals that flash counter to the turn signals, so there are more things going on, but still going with the lower mount area. Can get a pic if no one else posts one.
