Just a dam pic of Gorge Lake Dam on North Cascade Hwy . Funny how little water behind it after all the snow this winter .

The Grande Dixence dam - the thing was just too damn big to get a shot of in its entirety. It is the highest-altitude gravity dam in the world.

To give you an idea of the scale: the faint little white strands on top of the dam are flagpoles, each about 10m in height. The dam itself is 285 meters high, situated at an altitude of 2365 meters.

The snow hasn't melted yet, just wait. Although the way it's going up here there won't be a summer. Just spring, then fall.

Spring is when the water is kept lowest in mountian dams. Much of the snow melt has yet to happen, and they gotta have room for it.
