Sweating gasket
In the netherlands we now have what seems to be the first real flaw !
Three users of our dutch forum have now a sweating gasket (not really leaking but a just some oilsweat) on the lower front of the right engine casing, probably triggered by a badly measured guidance pin. Any sweating internationally? |

Are they running a synthetic oil ? I know on my Yamaha motorcycles, if I run regular oil there is no sweating, if I run synthetic there IS sweating and have had no issues for tens of thousands of miles..... Just a thought.. |

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough. Yamaha is replacing the whole rear shock assembly under warranty, ie. free. If they weren't, I'd have just fashioned a metal support bracket for the existing broken knob, found an alternative stronger knob or, if it all got too hard, keep using a small adjustable spanner to change the suspension setting. All is good!

I was just fast forwarding a year or so into the future when the warranties have all expired and some poor guys knob falls off and he enters the YAMAHA dealer and comes out screaming about the price of his new knob. He might feel a bit shafted.. ![]() Never mind. Seems like a good time for the bling makers to do some very fancy aftermarket replacements, like they do for the Ducati mid life crisis guys. Speaking of which..This has nothing to do with YAMAHA or knobs but it was funny as. This is how Australians do reviews. Cheers Graham

Canuck test ride at Dunlop Charity event in Tonawanda
Finally got a test ride on a Super Tenere in Tonawanda,NY
No thanks to Yamaha Canada and their stupid static Super Tenere display at their demo rides Many thanks to Yamaha USA,I can't buy one in the US,but guess where I will be buying most of my accessories and parts Wasn't impressed or disappointed with the bike, need more time to evaluate properly It felt like riding big smoothish thumper, at 60 mph it's chugging along at 3000 Rpm,very relaxed Acceration was good enough for my slowing reflexes and limited skills Didnt know what Mode or Traction Control Setting it was,I was too excited just to be able to ride one I never intended to ride it off road, but from the feel of the bike,I will certainly try Some buffeting from the windscreen I think I made the right decision in buying one Please try to make it out for the Charity event and mayb snag a test ride |

Thanks for the posting the video of the Australian Ducati test. I've watched hundreds of these over the last 20 years or so and this is by far the best. My favorite line is "You get the age old honeymooners choice, do you want it in your eye or your mouth"

That's good stuff. "You get the age old honeymooner's choice, do you want it in your mouth, or in your eye?" Never seen any serious review like that one.

Love the Aussie subtleties, like
"150 horsepower trowser filling mode" and "mountain of grunt that craps on anything else in it's class" :)

Thaqua, where'd you get the extra bars to do this? Was it from another setup for the XTZ or created yourself? I like the Yam bars for highway peg mount but like the others available for more protection to the side panels but don't want to buy complete setups. Inquiring minds want to know.
