Might want to give a call to the Payette FS: (208) 634-0700. They have a page with some road conditions but I don't see anything about snow levels. I'll be calling Nez Perce FS today to see if I have a route from Elk City to the Selway on Thursday.

Edit: Just to pass along general information, I talked with a lady at the Red River Ranger Station just now and she said she knows of no way to go from Elk City to the Selway. As to whether I could get around the Falls Point Road slide on a motorcycle, she would only say "closed is closed." As of a few days ago, she said they could still only get as far as Lytle Cow Camp which looks to be at about 5500'.

Back to the maps!

So, you're saying FS 443 is closed?

Yep, due to a slide. And if you could get by the slide, it sounds like there'd be snow to contend with. Enough of a gamble that I'm probably changing my coming weekend route to this (Google map). Please don't tell me any of that is impassable.

The Red River Ranger station is 842-2245 if you want to inquire further.

Nah. We ran all that route a month ago, minus from the top of Hess to Imnaha ~ there were still a couple feet of snow, but that grade has since melted.

Should be a pretty ride.

Here's what I got today, 7/6, from the link you sent:

Burgdorf Road - French Creek - Still snowed in around Freight Landing

Thanks for the heads-up, Byron. That blows my mind that it's still closed. We went through there the 1st week of June last year, on the way to the HC ride.

Headin' out tomorrow, to try and find some places to ride that don't include 3 ft snow drifts... which is proving difficult.

New to the Boise dual sport scene!

Just bought a KLR705 and am ready to ride! I only know a few of the Boise faces with adv/dual-sport bikes, but am game to ride on almost any weekend. Looking to meet some new people and get to know my new bike!

A whole bunch of new people in the Boise thread! Welcome! I'm out of state right now so I don't have much information for ya, nor can I help with a tire. But just wanted to say hi.
