Was there a prison break around that time? Last year when I was traveling quite a bit by bus we were stopped at a military checkpoint and they pulled a couple guys off the bus that fit the profile. The story I got was that a bunch of people broke out of the reynosa prison and buses were being stopped and they were looking for the people that escaped.

On a side note, I was very interested to see how the military treated people on the different bus lines. I was riding ETN, which is an executive bus line. The soldiers or federales would get on the bus, act very courteous and explain what they were doing. I did the same trip a couple months later on one of the more basic bus lines, and the treatment to say the least was quite a bit different.

Anybody ever try "La Picota"? Has the agave on the label but doesn't say Tequila or Mescal or anything. Good stuff!

Careful with La Picota. In english it means "the pillory", or stocks, in which petty criminals were locked in public for their crimes

That is an excellent point. As you and I know (but some reading this may not understand) prison breaks were practically a weekly event during that period of time.

    Yep.

I understand the idea is one of addiction, not literal incarceration.

Well, according to Bato, anyway. He should know - he wouldn't touch the stuff. :lol3

whenever you charge gas in MEXICO ask for 20 liters to get the full liters. why? because if the pump is set to cheat, it can no doit on 20's since is the amount the fuel auditor ask whenever they random audit the gas stations.

no matter if your bike dont get the full 20 liters, just cut the fueling when is full.

the computer is programed to dispense full liters when is set it on 20's, 40's etc.

    trust me.

My wife and I Just spent six months in Mexico from TJ to La Paz and over to Mazatlan and down to Las Hadas. We found The Mexican people to be friendly and helpful. We had a great time. Only travel in day light and spent the night in safe places and have fun.

You hit the nail on the head Amigo but we have decided that with all the disinformation out there about riding in Mexico that we'd just keep the place to ourselves and discourage the stupid people from going there. So don't tell anyone that you had a great time and that the people are super friendly! :clap:evil

    And welcome to ADVRider!

And if neither of the above kill you, the people will kill you with their kindness.

I was actually hoping to have my breathe taken away by a young lady with her passionate kisses, but I guess that I'll have to settle for the scenery. :lol3
