Here's another school we spotted while out on a short ride on a stinking hot day... it's in Easton's Corners, Ontario.

[/IMG]Bethel School. Sorry I couldn't get a better picture but I didn't want to walk into the yard. If I remember correctly, the date on the plaque was 1905. Directly across the road is this little gem: ![]() You guessed it, the Bethel Church. I included it as there must have been Sunday School . They are located on the Bethel Church Road near Minden, ON. The 2015 Pan Am Games white water canoe and kayak events will take place about a km. down the road at the Minden White Water Reserve. If you're ever in the area there are trails along the river for viewing the white water activities, several nice spots to have a picnic and a small beach.

Here's one not many here have likely seen. It's no longer a school, but some kind of missionary retreat. It's where I went to elementary school 50+ years ago, in McKenzie Island in NW Ont. My Dad was the teacher. The backstop was wood back then, and I don't remember all those nice windows. I got smashed into the backstop when I was about 7, and broke my nose. Softball was a rough sport up there
![]() ![]() Everything in town was wood frame, and houses burned down regularly in the winter. Ours was one of the few that survived the chimney fires, and it's still there to this day.

Just discovered this thread. I have been seeing Old School Houses for a while and jsut in the last few weeks started taking pics of them. (I have them o nfacebook as it's so easy to take the picture from my Blackberry and then post it. I also have been creating a map of old school houses I have seen or know about. The map is on Google Maps:
http://tinyurl.com/oldschools It's a work in progress and as i find more I'll put them on the map. ..Tom

I wish there was a simple way to transfer pictures from facebook to these forums. Here is a link to my photo Album on facebook. I take a picture while I am on the road an immediately upload it to facebook. When I get to a computer, I find hte school on Google Maps (Street view in most cases) and show the view from Google Maps as Comparison.
Here is my album: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...9e71493&type=1 ..Tom

Montreal one room schoolhouse
Situated in the north end of Montreal and heated by a wood stove. Went to school there around 1956. Third and fourth grade in the same room if I remember well. Now used as an office and for residential purposes. Very good memories.

Another lovely old building, such a different style of architecture from the other ones we've seen in this thread. I would never have guessed it was a school.
