Hood to Coast

It's that time again. if you would like to ride all night for the hood to coast relay as a deterrence patrol to keep the runners safe shoot me an email, scout18@clear.net and I will put you in touch with the guy in charge. He needs dual sport riders to ride back an forth on a gravel section of road out past Pittsburg..

Did you ever get an answer on if motorcycle volunteers can count as a team's required volunteer?

I'm sad I'm not running it this year. The team I ran with last year didn't have enough people back out. :(

I have been one of the MC volunteers for the last 3 years. it's always a blast. Unfortunately, volunteering for the MC duty doesn't count as one of the required team volunteers. That is why I am stuck being an Exchange captain for the nike team downtown this year!! Since I am not doing it this year I am sure that at least one more rider is needed!!

I am riding the gravel sections for the second year in a row. Had a blast last time, it sure gets crazy out there with 1000 vans and 1000 runners + the P2C walkers out there. The shift is a 12 hour shift from 6pm to 6am and is organized by the Rose City Motorcycle Club. The last I heard that had enough volunteers for the job at hand, but why not join the Rose City MC, it is a whole $25/year and you get 20% parts discount at Beaverton Motorcycles.

It's dusk to dawn and all night long. They still need riders at this point. What else are you gonna do but stay up late drinking beer and watching the same crap on TV that you always do. They give you 35$ dollar stipend for gas and food and you are doing nice thing for some active folks. At this late date call me directly and I will put you in touch with the man in charge. Jared.
