It is firm but controlled when I hit large holes= predictable. I would like little more plush ride, but that will come after fooling around wiht the clickers/ valving stacks. You can also have the rebound circuit in the rear shock modified. Talk to Terry Hay.

Then you can afford the APC 2012 entry fee, a 4 week over seas holiday with your partner, and still have money left compared to buying a KTM (Kost That Much!!!)

BTW I am an ex-KTM owner so the above is said with tongue firmly placed in buccal pouch ( cheek)

Nearest Town = St Arnaud in central Victoria.

Thanks mate,

Upgrading the standard susp will cost about $500 doing it myself with gold valves and heavy springs, but i spose its not knowing how much better it will be?
Or do you fit MX susp? ie RM forks and shock?

Either way what ever you adv ride its got to be revalved and resprung, so might as well do it to the dr IF it does make them that much better?

Ok, all the mockery is well deserved and despite Dr's being unreliable shitboxes that aren't worth throwing off a cliff, in all seriousness they would make a great rally runner with the right mods. As long as you're happy with the lack of ooomph.

Rather that putting lipstick on a pig, I would look at buying a set of post 2003 DRZ forks and rear shock from the US or locally if you have contacts.

18" DRZ wheel on the back, most places out there didn't seem to have 17"

A coyote on the back negates the need for racks and strengthening the subframe

A big tank and you're sweet to go

I'd get a screen and pivot pegs and fat bars and a nav bar and LED aux lights and staintune system and barkies and braided brake lines and Trailtech lights and fairing and upgrade the seat to make it comfortable and easily removable but that's just me.

Would a 650 Veestrom with a bit of kit do it without much hassles?

DRZ400 advice

I am planning to use my DRZ400 in the APC rally in 2012. I was wondering if anyone that used the same bike in 2011 has any advice re: setup: gearing ratios, luggage carrying methods.

For the type of terrain on the APC rally, what sprockets would you have on the front and back to go with the 18 inch rear on the DRZ
