I just know because I went to school there. When somebody was very nice, the teacher would send him get wood for the stove. It was considered as some kind of privilege. Amazing how things have changed.

More schools that Stephanie and I managed to spot while out this weekend on two glorious days of riding the roads in Eastern Ontario on our DR's.

This first one is near Elgin.



This is SS Nos 9 and 11 in Holleford.







There was a pretty little church there too.

I enjoy this thread. Great pictures of Holleford which of course is the result of a meteor impact The picture with the church and the school is a classic Eastern Ontario time warp . Are you going farther afield with the Seats Concept saddle ? Let us know how it feels

Over 500kms over two days this weekend, fantastic seat. Very comfortable. Could be slightly softer, I did order the standard hard foam but I've no complaints. The DR is a great bike for this type of exploring as well, small turning circle allows for changes of mind without a big hassle!

I had to load them in and verify them with google street view, etc.

I am trying to merge the two maps together. (Saving one map to a kml and then importing into the otehr.) It starts but then sits there and does ntohing. I'll look at it a bit more later today.

How about just using the name 'dresda', its the one I use on all the forums.

Found two more schools today. Actually we found three but couldn't get a picture of the third.

This was just East of Athens.





And this one was in Crosby.

Belfry School in south western Manitoba, just west of Melita.
My mother-in-law taught here in 1952.
Closed in 1963. It must have been a cold desolate place in the middle of winter!

We found a couple more on Sunday. Ashdad, on the Ashdad road, north of Calabogie:







And this one in Calabogie, only found because of a detour, who knew it was tucked away on a tiny side street!

School at Donald ON in the Haliburton Highlands - and it's for sale.

Dresda / Emmbeedee, we may have passed you on Sunday. We were also riding N. of Calabogie on our way home from a weekend riding in QC. We crossed at Portage du Fort / Cheneaux and took back roads thru Rosebank, Douglas and Eganville before continuing thu Palmer Rapids. We passed a couple on DS bikes between Cheneaux and Eganville. Just don't remember where.

We had lunch in Eganville, then went down to Foymount, Quadeville,Schutt, Denbigh. Not a lot of bikes out in that wind on Sunday. I had my hi-vis jacket on, I'm hard to miss wearing that!

Also, we weren't on the DRs. We took the BMWs that day so you must have spotted someone else.
