Definitely another interesting new bike from Triumph, it had better be extremely competent and well sorted, what with BMW's new from the ground up, water cooled boxer in the works.

Hopefully sooner rather than later, this new powerplant will be utilized in a pure sport touring format as well. I'm tired of tall bikes, here on the gusty prairies...

If you mean a pure sport tourer - don't count on it. The Sprint ST/GT are now run out models. The only new bikes in the offing are the Tiger and the new RT style Trophy.

Bingo, this is the modular offshoot I would've had in mind. I might be a little behind, what's the powerplant to be used in this Trophy model ?

It's the same (new) big cc triple. Allegedly 140bhp and gobs of torque.

Tiger 1200 for 2012, and then Trophy 1200 for 2013, I think.

Rumour has it that it'll be a derivative of the new Tiger motor - somewhere around 1200cc. 140 bhp has been mentioned. Happy days ahead for the triple crowd..

Yes that test mule photo of the Trophy rings a bell, I'll have to track down it's adv thread and subscribe as well.

A lot of new iron coming down the pipeline, it'll help deal with the off season.

Disappointed that the Tiger 1200 appears not to have radial brakes. The brakes seemed liked the weak point of the 800 Tiger when i tested one.

Not so with my 800XC ABS, brakes on this bike are better then most others. No need for radial brakes, it's not a super sport or a super bike.

Don't see any jugs hanging out so doubt if it is an exact copy. Triple sweet engine also. Won't move you sideways when you blip the throttle.
