[QUOTE=wishin4woods;16841214]More great scenery courtesy of mother nature and the beautiful land known as The South. That's Ineptizoid on the KLR (or Adeptizoid?)
Taking a rest and meeting up with Vico1. He's a great guy. Wish he could have joined us for the entire ride.

He doesn't have one. I'm a pretty big deal when it comes to Photoshop.

Day two of our 60 mile tour (by the end of the trip we would come to realize that DR Z was good at many things. Map legends? NOT one of those things. ).

It began normal enough. Roll out of bed around nine-ish,load up the bikes, enjoy the tail end of a magnificent continental breakfast and hit the road by noon. We were a very ambitious group. Early to bed and all that. We head across the street from the Hotel to fuel up and are greeted by a very friendly attendant that was pressure cleaning the area where the pumps are situated. Okay, he was kind of a dick. Thankfully I was wearing my helmet and could barely hear his grumpy utterances.

Getting our rides ready to go. You will notice (or not) the absence of a few riders here. Several riders had prior obligations so they couldn't do the whole ride. Both sanjoh and kelly duke 2000 decided to take off a bit early (just after this pic).We would meet up with them later in the day.

Aaaaand.....We're OFF!!

To our first break of the day.

This would become the modus operandi for our trip which was fine by me as my arse was taking a right pummeling from my seat even with it's extra padding (extra padding in the seat, not my ass!)

Pretty cool bridge but I wouldn't recommend a dip in the stream that ran underneath it unless you wanted to re-enact the leach scene from Stand By Me.

I think the good Dr. might have been right about his estimate of 60 miles. We just took so many breaks that it lasted for four hours.

A few hours of twisting through some beautiful southern backdrops (which included some beautiful cotton farms) the scenery began to be a bit less....flat.

Came across this happy fellow. Seems to be a prominent photo opp for this ride.

As I said..The scenery, she was a changin'. That's DR Zs mighty XRR. He brought along an Exxon Valdez size fuel tank just in case the rest of us or all of us needed some gas. I laugh partly from jealousy.

See those tiny figures down the road a ways? That's sanjoh and kelly duke patiently waiting for us stragglers.

Pictures of picture taking. It was important to document our stops in order to preserve a chronological visual journal of their frequency for future travelers to gaze upon and be mesmerized by.

That gentleman with the raised thumb is our fearless organizer DR Z in the flesh!! Seriously though, without him and Buzztail this ride would not have happened...Thanks guys.

We went on down the road to meet up with sanjoh and kelly duke. After shooting the shit for a while and scarfing down some of our packed food we again said goodbye to the two of them. Good riddance!! Nah, I'm kidding. We will be meeting up with them later in the day.

We were treated to some amazing roads throughout this day. The scenery was ever changing lending tiny hints at what we would encounter in the days to come....We weren't in Flatistan anymore Dorothy!!

Somewhere between lunch and this mountain view we had parted ways with DR Z ,Barney and sanjoh as they wanted to ride the Horsestomp loop in the Talladega Natl Forest. The rest of us (which now included kelly duke) set off for Mt Cheaha where we would be camping for evening.

A view from on of the scenic overlooks. This area is beautiful.

Buzztail and I decided to give in to our inner tourists and pose for a couple of pics. Mt Cheaha!!

From this point we headed into the state park to secure our accommodations for the evening. As usual everything was closed by the time we rolled in but we were fortunate enough to come across a ranger that happens to run the little store where you pay for camping. Turns out that he use to race enduros when he was younger and took a shine to us.He set us up with a big site for the whole group and gave us a "group" rate on the site!! AWESOME!!

We would be joined later that evening by the rest of our rag tag band. At that point some beverages would be consumed ,food eaten and stories of rides past told. We made a late night of it because, well, you don't get to do this everyday.

PAR Riders Day One

My day started before sunrise. I stopped to take a quick pic and rode on to Freeport to meet with Barney, Inept, and Mugwest for breakfast and the pull to Blountstown.

A few bikes lined up and ready for the ride (after having our nail done of course).

I chased the pack on the street and met up with them at several spots..

Lunch ? Well it was fun.

Another cross roads meeting... nothing open...for the last 20 years it looks like...

Here they come click on pic for vid

Day two I split off and went to Cheaha - took a long nap and then a long sunset ride

click on this one too

Got chigger bits with the lads at camp and enjoyed a lot more BS...

Wished them well and then split back to FWB on Day Three while the Loop Lads continue on.

EPIC
