Just found news about a possible Kawasaki Versys 1000, the bike will be powered by the Z1000 inline-four engine.

![]() Now we need a Six cylinder ADV Bike. Any takers?? Maybe Group Qianjiang can bring back the Benelli 750 motor for the mid range segment. Time to start a rumour I think. ![]() Well I suppose since the Europeans like Jacked up road bikes, this was bound to happen. ![]() At least we are getting flooded with practical bikes for a change.

I'm not sure if that's brilliant or insane. However, if it's a Kwak - it'll be fun, but probably won't have a center stand. One of my personal hates on a road bike.

![]() Waiting for the punch line.... like it will be like a KLR and have only five gears...... ![]() and like a KLR, the manual will indicate it has six.

Z1000 engine in a dual sport. It may not be the best in the dirt but it certainly will be among the fastest.

So Suzuki - what do you have?
The BKing engine would be a good start... |

In breaking News YAMAHA announces the ADV-MAX.
1700cc of raw adrenalin pumping grunt. Tuned for off road power. Able to throw roost a quarter of mile in milliseconds.... Seriously guys, this is what people want. More power, faster quarter mile times lighter weight. Don't tell me anyone was surprised. Kawasaki has obviously been reading this forum.

I like it! I4s aren't my cuppa, but it'd suit the mission just fine. Smooth, plenty of power and that I4 will lug down low and chug along very nicely while still having a solid top end punch. I remember thinking my bandit 1250 engine would have been an ideal adv touring engine as it was so flexiable. Could plunk along at 1k rpm on a atv track or tear up the twisties.

Nothing wrong with that. I think few D/S vehicles are ever really used for what they were made for. I'm on my 6th Jeep that has never been off roading. |

Direct competition for the Vstrom 1000, only Kawasaki doesn't try to fool anybody by installing a 19" front wheel.
It's an asphalt adventure bike.
