What I intended to do, was to show off my freshly mounted Touratech GPS Holder thingy and GPS. (pic is in the prototype phase.
It is awesome just because (I won't get lost now). Really, because I fab'ed up everything to mount the bracket there.
Looks nice, EJ. And i am not saying this just because the bracket is a "good" color.

I did ride a little. I had to "test" the GPS to insure it would register speed over 100mph. So, an Airport Run was done. What a rush. The "Super Tenere" isn't so "Super" when it comes to speedometer accuracy. 3 to 5 off. Or the GPS is high. Yeah.

I do miss theBMW speedo accuracy. Damn lawyers.

If you like your speedo accurate don't get a V-strom. I don't even look at my speedo anymore, I know what speed I'm at by the tach and gear I'm in, just in case I don't have the GPS with me.

Welp, another awesome day in the woods! Point the map to Danville and get going.



swingset had said he was in. I stopped by his place on my way north to see if he was still home. Check.



These rides are so much fun I can't believe we don't have hundreds of riders show up. Today we had seven, including first-timer Don on his V-Strom.



It was good to see somecallmetim again - been a couple years



alansZ400, z@ch and MeefZah round out the gang




It took Meef about 30 seconds to get us on gravel roads





Nice scenery and lots of backroads to play on







Since I'm slow, the guys did plenty of waitin' today.



Dirt and gravel roads in every direction. Awesome!



It was nice weather. The sun came out and warmed things up a little



Don's Strom must have some special anti-dirt coating or something



A quick break

And if you're gonna go ride this area you have to stop in Peggy Sue's for lunch



Among other things, they have pie!



After lunch, some more backroad riding



My bike needed a rest, so it threw me off and layed itself down



Meef took my camera to get a shot of me with the wheel-side down

A great day. Thanks, guys, for waiting on me in the rougher bits



On my way home, I got one more scenery picture before the camera battery died



Next week is Halloween weekend. Time for another jaunt in the woods.

Geez, I don't know how long it's been since I've seen Tim. Last time we were drinking home brew at a garage day, no wait I've seen the Guzzi, anyway it's been too long. Without the beard and it looks like he's dropped 100 lbs I probably wouldn't know him anyway.
