Hardest day of motorcycling in my life; several alarming crashes including one in which I cut a cactus in half with my body, ran on a flat front for 25 miles, ruined my brand new hand-guards, bent my shifter, killed a poor desert bunny that actually jumped in front of my bike at about 60 mph, ran out of water three times, and when I finally couldnt carry on anymore, laid down in the desert for three hours waiting for the sweep riders and repeated vomited on myself, and scared the living $*%t out of my wife for not coming in for four hours....oh and my first DNF of any race, ever.
Learning experience today for sure....and im going to be hurting for a week. Enter Desert Racing. A MASSIVE thank you out to the Lost Coyotes for all their hard work. Thanks to Mike for "lettings" me steal his front wheel. Thanks to ALL the guys who came out and rode the third loop AGAIN after finishing the race to come find my sorry ass that couldnt even DO the third loop...... hell mike was in shorts! I think he just did that to show off a bit though..... There is no clearer reason to NOT join a club and contribute whenever you can - because everyone has bad days..... and it may not happen very often but when it does, you really need all the help you can get. Apparently Im not as tough as I thought i was.....need to get tougher.

not a noob anymore ...
Great job on getting out and racing Pasta! Glad to hear you are not seriously hurt. I have found the DNF's arent nearly as bad as the DNS's. Glad to see you still at it. Hope to cross paths sometime in 2012.
Doug

So I was semi compassionate yesterday, seeing how he was wore out and such, but this is a new day and the internet was created for the sole purpose of abusing your friends.
Dood, you ran the fastest first loop out of 8 guys in your class and 2nd fastest loop2! You have the speed, you just need to pace yourself a little better (look who's talking ). And maybe race some scrambles where you get to run the same loop twice. and holy crap was I really 1st again on the first loop? thats crazy. I was completely wide open for the entire bomb. I passed a lot of guys.... the KTM WORKS SO WELL, its almost like the faster you go, the better it works. I cant believe I even got 2nd with a flat front.... ![]() Obviously I need to spend some time toughening up and riding more. Can hardly move today.... tomorrow should be interesting. I was carrying a spot. here is the hill that I finally couldnt make it up. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...UTF8&z=12&om=1 sad thing is, it doesnt even look like its that far from anything but MAN..... it might as well have been on the moon
