Fits good enough for me. I bought MXC tank used, and it came with the seat to match, but it was for the older bikes with the wrong mounts, so I'm using the stock EXC seat. Little gap, little problem. Protects the rads too.

Would the seat and tank fit an 04 EXC? If Razr doesn't want it, I'll take it!

as of now im shopping for a 450 / 525..
It appears the 450s are much more popular than the 525. If i can find a 450 in decent condition, it isn't too expensive to get it to a 525/540 is it?

i was sort of set on a 525, as i do like long stroke low end thumping power instead of aggressive peaky motors, the 450 has the same stroke as the 525 so they would rev at the same RPM at certain speeds?
I could be wrong

The tank will be fine, but the seat may not fit. The seat I got with my MXC tank had the two aluminum tabs, whereas the '07 EXC seat I am using with the tank has the single bolt from the bottom, but there is the small gap, which I don't care enough about. See my picture above. That is the gap people are fussing about. You should be fine, and at $40, I'd grab the tank.

Question on steering dampener. On my 07, it looks like there is no room (flat spot) for the dampener mount on the frame. The weld goes all the way up to the metal seal below the triple clamp. I just installed a damper on my friend Deb's bike, she has an 03, and there was tons of room on her frame for the mount.
Anyone else have a similar experience? Also, anyone know where I can get a headlight guard? Can't find any for sale that fit. Got one from baja designs, it's too big.
