Mr Bracket
How long is the rod you are using to go thru the axle for that style mounting? I'm trying to see if I can make it a Dual Purpose Dual Sport Trailer. My street bike has a hollow axle so if I can use it on both

This was my intention when I was designing mine that I never made. I know that the axle on my Z1000 is at least an inch wider than my dual sport (WR250R). I was thinking that I was going to have to make two mounting hitches to switch between. I wish that I had a spare $500 laying around. I would have purchased a prototype.

The rod is 3/8" in Diameter and the axle needs to be between 10-1/2" to 11-1/2" overall length. I may make other sizes in the future, but that width fits many common dual sport bikes.... DR650, DRZ400, KLR650 (with special hitch), many KTM's, newer Husabergs, WR250R/X....

MrBracket you need to put your website link in your sig line for easy access and add all the video's...............................just say'n
How 'bout falling over. Have you "crash" tested the connections yet? Riding two track and falling are pretty common and I wonder how the connection at the motorcycle hold up through repeated (several) dumps.

Honestly, I have not crash tested it.. Crashing is one of those things we all want to avoid, especially after we add custom components to our bikes. But we all accept the fact that it is going to happen, we just don't know when or how. I really don't know how I'd "crash test" the trailer?? Most of my crashes were different..
Just like pulling a trailer with an automobile, you need to be more aware while driving. You need to allow extra time for stopping and take turns a bit wider. Just like adding bags and racks to your bike, crashing with a trailer may result in a bit of a "yardsale".... It all depends on the crash. Of course, if anyones trailer was to get damaged, I would be fair in helping to get it repared and back on the trail.

They are pictured a few posts back. They are a 14" motorcycle wheel. The tire is 2.5" wide.

I think by "crash test" he is asking, have you dropped your bike or fallen over while riding off road?
