So we split from there and head out to the Forks...we need fuel anyways.

Thats the one and only problem that I have with the little range. It's little fuel tank will only let you get about 80 miles before you need to be finding your next fuel source. There are a couple of makers of long range tanks that fit the little beast, but...even though I have one sitting in the box at home I have yet to put it on, because when I'm trail riding over the rough stuff and dump the bike, like I always do....I just don't think the big tank would survive. If I were to take a big remote trip like to Alaska or some such place, the big tank would have to go on though, and I'd just be more careful. Kinda defeats the fun a bit I reckon.

We hop on the Capitol Road and head towards Moosehead. The Capitol Road sucks....Super wide dirt, super highway with lots of cars and trucks. We exit off via the Williams Mountain Road to Rt.6 and head to Rockwood and the Northern Road. This is the road (among others) that will take you.....North. Not long ago motorcycles could not go beyond the 16 mile checkpoint, but the checkpoint has been moved north, to just beyond Pittston Farm and the twenty mile mark. This opens up a whole lot of dirt riding.

This is a pretty cool place...and it must be off the grid unless there's some secret buried power lines that I never noticed. We stopped in for a coke and a chat with the manager. Really nice people, cool place and if we weren't camping, I'd seriously consider staying here.

Think I'll bring whizzerwife here someday...

We had places to go

After riding all over every side road we could find, we made it to Seboomook Campground on the Northern tip of Moosehead Lake

Set up in a Adirondack shelter on a point.

Tyrebitr blows me a goodnight kiss....

Lucky for us...there was a bodacious thunderstorm about 3 a.m.

Citizens are asleep, and the media plays a bedtime story.
