It does a pretty good job with the glare. I can usually see it unless the sun is shinning directly into it.
Got it here http://www.glarestomper.com/316.html

Wifey had to modify it with a little flap to make it more convenient to use the RAM mount and so I could get to the on/ off stitch. But no big deal.

Thanks in advance..
Mine's the Adventure screen in 18" with the light gray tint. I'm 5'8" w/30" inseam and seat in low position. As mentioned earlier, I look over my screen and see unobstructed asphalt about 1 standard parking length ahead of me (about 20').

Most of my miles are on pavement and the GPS is very convenient above the instruments, but you have a good point about off road. I do keep another RAM mount on the handlebar for that purpose.

Yeah.... I kind of overload my previous GS dash . It bounced like crazy, but was actually more substantial than the Tiger's mounts. The GS windscreen sucked too.

Great! Just the info I was looking for! I'm 5'8" too, so the same options should do.

But I still like to see everything out in front of me and a dark screen creates a blind spot particularly if going slow or stopped. Doesn't help that I wear a light tint face shield.
that makes sense for the slow speed.

+1 for the OEM touring screen

Just got back from a 4k mile trip from Michigan to Florida and back. The trip south was with the OEM shield which worked pretty well for me. I knew that I needed more protection for the trip home as the temps had dropped a bunch. Picked up the Triumph touring screen in Miami and headed north. It works a lot like the stock screen but just punches a bigger hole in the air. I think it looks right on the bike as well. FYI, I'm 5'8" with 30" inseam. Seat is in low position.

I know it was off topic but thanks for the info on reducing glare on the GPS. I have mine mounted just above the instrument cluster as well and 50% of the time it's unreadable. BTW, there is more room above the instrument cluster with the Triumph touring screen than there is with the stock screen.

Now I just need a better seat. Is there a dedicated seat thread for the Tiger 800? Corbin says they have one "coming soon."

I'm very happy with the Mastad screen on my Tiger. I have the smaller one, I believe in a Sport. I'm short (5'5") and I have it pretty much all the way down and slightly tilted in my direction (very slight). I tested it out on a boring Interstate ride from Indiana to Southern Florida and back about a month ago. I even had the chance to spend about 200 miles of the ride in the remnants of a tropical storm...35-40 mph winds and driving rain. You know a product is working for you when you don't give it a second thought. Wish I could say the same for the seat.

Does anyone make a short screen that just lets clean air flow?

There was one on the UK forum where somebody used a flyscreen from the (speed/street?) triple but I think it was very expensive. Looked good though.

Others have taken the stock screen off entirely or modified it to lay back against the instrument pod. You get smooth air but not much protection at higher speeds.

The Madstad is convertable to a flyscreen. The plastic shield comes off in about a minute via four thumb screws, and for an even cleaner look, you can take the robo brackets off almost as fast (4 bolts w/nynuts). I saw one where the owner had got some little black pop-in plastic plugs from the hardware store to fill in the bolt holes for a real finished look.

I tried everything I could to make it work. It may work for some but for me its a no go.

I took my screen back to the dealer today. They were great to work with and helped me out! I bought the other Givi adjusteable wind screen. Its the AF6401 model http://www.giviusa.com/My-motorcycle...--Tiger-800-XC

I will let you guys know what I think next week.

that madstad has a metal baseplate that works well for that too w/ the robobrackets and screen removed.

that shorty above looks way cool however.

It looks cool! I don't think it is big enough to be a very effective windscreen. It might keep your navel warm though.

for something that small why bother with the extra wind lip?
if you go that small it should just be like a fly screen so as to flow air onto you say in the summer.
