I think you are misunderstanding the misnomer of the word, "easy".

On the easy ride this past year, after the first three hours, we were found laying down in a field, covered in mud.....exhausted..... Half the riders were seriously second guessing their decision to join the "EASY BIG BIKE RIDE". We dropped well over a dozen bikes.....and I think a couple of fellows went completely under water in the murky mud.

They have stories....those that joined the fray.

Here's a couple of links that were shared with me when I was planning my '09 Colorado ride.

http://mycolorado.org/trails.html

http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php

They are written for jeeps but I found the information including maps, gps files and trail descriptions very good and relevant to motos as well.

So when you ask some of these crazy mofos where their 'easy' ride is going you'll have clue what kind of trouble they'll be getting into! ....if you've done your homework.

Here's a few pics from some easy stuff basically right in Silverton from 2010

Yes, afternoon brings rain to those hills.

Hope I'm still living in CO next year. It's too soon for me to decide. Definately would like to be there to finish the Alpine Loop.

I didn't know the name, but I will tell you this......

The unique blue color of that water is something to experience. No photo can do it justice.

A bit of trivia..... while we are sitting in our homes or places of business today... (because it is 22 degrees outside).

My Planning Committee was made aware, a couple of months ago, that I was considering a significant change to the event for 2012. It involved a 7 day loop of the state of Colorado. They were not happy with me.....

There were comments like....If you change RMAR and do this loop thing, then you will completely loose the social and family element. After some going "back and forth"...... I agreed. My RMAR Committee is a very wise bunch of souls......

Actually.....this is what I am getting at......and this is what they pointed out to me......

RMAR is a Family type of event. Everyone who has signed up for their third one really likes the environment. It isn't cliquey and everyone is welcome and involved. I love the fact that folks feel safe to bring their spouse and kids.

This isn't the event where half the attendees get rip-snort drunk and race 50cc's around the camp at midnight. We respect our host, we respect our neighbor and we behave ourselves. If you have a desire to "tie one on", howl at the moon and break your big toe on a 50cc bike while racing three other drunks around a campfire.....do it the weekend before you come to RMAR.

Additionally, if you think you want to tackle a 7 day, 1000 mile dirt loop in Colorado, it is being provided. In "Upcoming", check out the CAM1000. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=736274
