The military vehicles were interesting. The left vehicle is a Gaz 69 in Russian markings ( I think ) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GAZ_69 I think Jeremy Clarkson drove one of these and said it was the worst vehicle he had driven !
The vehicle next to it is a GAZ 46 amphibious jeep and bigger than the US Seep. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GAZ_46

Trabant 601 kubelwagen. These were used by the Grenztruppen that patrolled the DDR borders. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grenztruppen_der_DDR

Fantastic! Thank you for posting.

How does one sign up for this? I need a target date to get my Saxon Tour (OK it was made after the Wall came down) back on the road and this fits perfectly.

The rear engined Tata I believe was a favourite with spys. There is no real boot/trunk, but as the car is pretty big they fitted the rear seats further foward to give luggage room. Depending which way you were going you could fit in a mate who's health depended on not talking to the STASI, a crate of Levis and pop records etc.
