Alaska Leather felt nice and worked very well. Here's my SV1000N

sure! SV1000's are welcome here! (in fact I would consider one for my next bike IF they either had a larger tank or got better mpg)

When you order a saddle from Corbin you can ask for it to be modified at no extra charge, or else they send their "stock" configuration.
After several fails from them, they finally got it right on my current saddle. I asked for it to be built 1" over their "stock" height. The extra foam has allowed a MUCH cushier indent, although it took several 1000 miles for it to soften up any. My current Corbin has over 60K on it and feels like home. I also rock a sheepskin cover on some long days of slab. I really don't like the sheepskin when riding twisties.

I have an Alaskan Leather sheepskin on top of a stock seat. Does great (unless it gets soaked when you leave the bike out overnight in the rain, and then it's not so comfy).

I just got back from a two day trip though WV/MD/PA, etc and we really rode very hard at times, and this was AFTER the rear Conti Motion had right about 5000 miles on it.
NOW the rear looks VERY funky with some strange raised leading edges on the side treads (I will take a good picture and post it tonight with some trip photos)
So I will BARELY get 6000 out of the rear Conti Motion. It still feels pretty good and I experienced no weirdness due to this unusual wear, but may not go back to them in the Spring. I will most likely buy two sets of Mich Pilot Road 2's this Winter as everyone blows out their inventory.

I can understand about the mileage/range limitation. I get REAL nervous beyond 150 miles on a tank. At least it's not as bad as a Superhawk

Lost1888 and I live in NE Ohio, and yet WV ranks right up there with the finest riding we have done in any state.

Finally got the SV650 I've wanted for years. 2000 w 20,000 miles. PO took pretty good care of it but put different dogbones on to lower it a bit. Not sure if he did something to the seat as well but after a couple of long rides it's going to be worked on over the winter. Hearing the high mileage numbers makes me look forward to riding it for many more years.

Nice one! A friend of mine had a 02 and that was the bike that sold me on the motor. He has since sold his (in fact he's the guy in the pics with the showroom looking 99 VFR)

Unless you are short, I'd restore that bike to stock configuration. Better springs/oil up front and there are a number of used sportbike shocks that will make the rear end feel much better for little money.
