OEM pannniers bracket/mounting system = crap! Plastic and has no place on a ADV bike. As a matter of fact Triumph just used the same set up they have on the Sprint...bad bad decision.

I saw that as well and was disappointed. I thought they would design new panniers for the explorer that maybe i could use on the Tiger but no they went with the same crap.

Impressed with the usability of the racks from Motoorad. Easy removal and great support for soft bags. Can't stand the fugly hardcases, and the soft bags at least provide the "airbag" effect if/when the bike falls over. Wolfman also do a nice line in frames and soft bags but sadly at an unaffordable premium this far away.

Took the new Tiger out for the day. Only managed about 300 miles. I haven't ridden for about 6 months, so I was a little out of shape.

You should see one with Trax bags on it... I have 'em, I love 'em, but they are really wide! |

Camping at Allegheny National Forest last night. A tad chilly, fun roads.

Nice to see others still riding too! Not a big fan of the Triumph panniers...has Triumph replaced the plastic bracket with something more substantial yet? Or are they still using the Sprint ST bracket system?

Not certain. I had to rig something up as I have been waiting on my orders from Touratech and Cli-Max to finish my luggage system. Thanksgiving had a little to do with it, but Cli-Max is somewhat ridiculous. Been 13 days since my order and it still hasn't shipped. I would have spent the extra$$$ to get some racks sooner but it's too late now.

I will probably use the soft Wolfmans and a Pelican top case.
