Update-

I called the ranch and has a nice talk with the gal that runs it. She wasn't sure she wanted us; the Overland Rally had some of her neighbors annoyed at the noise/vehicles. She said she'd let me know by Dec 1, but I haven't heard back yet.
Board meeting of the gun club was last night, and we discussed having 125+ rowdy ADVers for a weekend, and the answer was "Hell yes, c'mon down!" but with some stipulations.
First, as discussed earlier in this thread, we do not get to use the racetrack. Second, because it will be impossible to monitor who's had a beer and who has not, there will be no shooting. Liability and all. I hadn't thought of that angle.
Huzar is coming over Dec 4 to check out the Club and another unimproved woods camping area, we'll see what he thinks next weekend.

You know the only bad part of all this, is every trip is with that Applejam guy. Oh well, maybe he'll cook something amazing and change my opinion of him.

On a more serious note… the Gun Club locale offered by 1911fan is currently in the lead (out of one) for places to have the event. All of the other ones are unlikely or not panning out. I will be meeting Mike soon to check out the locale as far as suitability for camping and general tomfoolery, and we should have the locale nailed down before the end of the year.
