You know....a lot of bicycle clubs do this ahead of time for their group rides.

One of the local clubs that rides out here in the country where I live even has letters and numbers painted at intersections to designate different routes the club rides on a regular basis.

Getting them to stick on a gravel or dirt road may be a little bit of a trick though!

We used to hang bits of construction marker ribbon at intersections. Orange, turn left, Yellow, turn right.

Of course, if you're color blind, you're screwed.

Kind of takes away the spontaneous aspect that, well, makes K's ride's so fun!

All this organization is gonna make me sad . One of my fondest memories of last years RDV was seeing Knybanjo come back from his ride beaming and grinning from ear to ear . I said "How'd your ride go " and Kny says " perfect Boss , 100% attrition , I lost'em all".

. Knybanjo was so proud , and I was proud of him

. As it turns out some of the riders felt different , but they got over it .

You mean, I have to ride if I show? I thought you only had to show with favors for the Boss and then stand around the fire and tell lies for a few days. This really scares me.

I will be leading an historical tour this year. We will leave at 10AM. A ride description and site description of the historic sites will be available on Friday.

This area is very rich in Revolutionary War history and historical oddities.

We will leave from the rear of Freeborne's at 10:AM.
I will be riding a R1100RT with a human passenger and a dog; so anyone should be able to keep up
Any street tire will suffice.
We should be able to do this on one tank of gas.
Lunch will be at the Snappy Lunch in Mt. Airy. Cheap and delicious pork chop sandwiches are their specialty.

We will be back with plenty of time to drink a few before dinner.
