What a piece of crap. AND it needs pushrod seals but he just had the heads off? Hmmmmm.
Read the description and look at the headlight.

Looks to be this bike: http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=731892

Reading the ad description, it sounds like the heads were off 15 years ago, not recently?

Was a decent deal at $400.00. I guess someone felt the same way at $1325.00 But they haven't seen the bike yet either.
To each his own.
Personally, I would have parted it out at $400.00 and helped to breath some new life into some other needy BMWs
But that's just me.

SPEEDOMETER TACHOMETER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SPEEDO TACHO R80 BMW R 80RT AIRHEAD 84
(In below average condition and may not even work)

I have bought whole bikes for less, with whole lot better clusters that this. If he gets that, no reason to ever sell another running bike...

it is no way for me to know will it fit your bike and is it oem or aftermarket part. And please don't ask me about measurments. Don't know how to measure.

Sold as is. All parts sold as not working junk. Need clean up, paint, oil elbow grease, etc. No returns, no exchanges, no warranty. If you need working part - this part is not for you.

...that was my old POS that was going to be turned into "something" but I ended up laid off this winter so decided to part it out. Decided to put it on EBay on a whim and was in shock that it went to $1k...much less $1325,00!
I even had a new set of "wirewrkr" plug wires I was gonna use but used them on my other bike.
Beauty is in the eye of the bidder I guess.

This guy seemed to do his VFR homework except for market value.

With the history rarity and following for this bike I won't be surprised if someone snaps it up to restore.
Nobody is restoring that mess for more than five or six hundred bucks, and that's if the opened up motor you opened up and took pictures of actually turns over. That thing is so knackered you'd have a hard sell at that price even if it ran and rode.

Quote:
Someone could also make good money by parting it out.
I've parted out about 25 bikes and the almost identical VF1000F motor parts I had are about the worst things I've ever wasted my time listing. I've been trying to sell these things for over a year and have dropped the price over and over again. They're so bad I've literally tried to give the whole lot away to any customer that buys a single part. For a parts bike value since the bodywork is busted and it's in such dirty shape the wheels, suspension, and brakes might be the only thing worth any money and I'm only guessing that because it's an R model. Carbs and engine electronics might be worth something if the motor ran, but since it's not you can't honestly list them as working parts. You might be able to find the right fool but I'd only give you about $100 for that bike if you dropped it off at my door.

The number of items with silly Buy Now! prices is astounding. Some get listed again and again and again, hoping for some fool who doesn't know any better.

I don't think someone can read an odometer.

Seller says bike is an unrestored 5632 miles bike yet the odometer in the picture clearly reads 65326. Hmmm...
