Maybe A SV650
Well still searching for a Ninja but came across a couple of threads on the SV650. At a dry weight of 375 and 75 HP sounds like a candidate for a rat bike.

I think the SV would be a killer build. A funny thing happens when you actually just get any ole bike to work on. As soon as you are about 30% finished, you'll have a lead on 4 other bikes...
I do think it looks very easy to do well and the SV can be had for cheap. Plus it already has what most of our builds are lacking and that's lightness. Looks to be 364 lbs dry vs 393 for the Ninja. I bet you can drop that down another 30-40 lbs through swingarm, wheels, forks, brakes, battery and losing the plastic. ![]()

Those are some of the pics that got me interested but they are the pre 03 version so no fuel injection and 65HP. I do think they look better with the round tube frame instead of the cast alum rectangle.
