Might as well get around to finishing the thread off. Pretty much all that was left to do was the painting and detailing. Headed down to the local NAPA store with the paint supplies. Thumbed thru some of their books and settled on a red and a silver that looked pretty close to the original colors. Both happened to be from early-mid-90's Ford Trucks!!
tubing, mounts all painted black and fairing back on
btw, all the tubing for the fairing and for the frame stiffeners etc., were made using this old homemade tubing bender. No fancy equipment here.
The red and silver came out as a pretty good match to the original colors.
The numer plate back grounds are from plain large rectangular sheets of number plate vinyl. TO get the round shape and size.....just stuck a dinner plate on the sheet and traced around it.....a number *plate*!!
A good bike mechanic only needs two tools, WD40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move, but should, use the WD40. If it does move but shouldn't use the duct tape.
