I've got one for you:

2001, had 90k when I got it. 5 speed, 2.4L. Power nothing, no CD, factory alloys.

2001's most reliable vehicle.

My daily driver. I put about 300 miles on it yesterday and much of it was at roughly -25*f. At one point I turned the heater off because it really wasn't doing anything anyway.

My '07 Tacoma TRD Sport with a topper and bicycle rack. It does have the tow package so maybe it isn't a total wannabe truckette that does not measure up to the obvious standards of some...

Here is the current incarnation of my 1985 X-cab truck. This thing has a motor with over 300K and I beat it like a redheaded step child every chance I get. She is kinda sick and always comes back asking for more.
If you are interested in my build up of this truck it can be found here:

Some video as well (Both are older versions of this same truck):

Does the TRD still have a bona fide e-locker in it? Or has it since gone the way of the Dodo and been replaced with traction control as a replacement?

There is not just one TRD model, Toyota makes two different versions of TRD Tacomas. The TRD Sport has a limited slip rear diff, the TRD Offroad has the e-locker (among a few other differences).

No worries, FatChance, I don't think anyone here thinks poorly of the Taco in a general sense. Hell, they are great trucks and if you get a new one the resale value is downright amazing. Mine was a 4cylinder regular cab and over time I discovered that it just didn't have the inside room I needed, plus it was lacking some amenities that I wanted as well. I would have simply bought an extended cab Taco similar to yours if the dealership hadn't made me such a great offer on the Tundra. I suspect I'd be happy with a bigger more powerful Taco as well, but I do love the Tundra.
