Had a session on the spanners today at my mates house. The Velo in the foreground is being rebuilt after being in bits for years. We used to take it for a thrash 30 odd years ago when his dad went out. We finally owned up a few years back and told him, fortunately he saw the funny side of it. he passed away a couple of years ago so nice to keep the memories alive every now and then.
![]() He's had that Norton for 30 Years Same bike different colour 25 years ago - Commandos seem to be long term keepers more than any other machine I've come across.

76 Daytona? The last few we in the USA got was in '74. Did Triumph continue building them for England after '74? I've been missing my '73 for a while now, and you've gone and whetted my apetite...

That is why it has the T140 large alloy tail light and chrome fenders and grab rail, and the larger front drum brake.

Considering that there were supposedly only a handful on the line that were put together and sold in in 76 they occasionally come up over here. I can walk into any of our local Brit bike shops and ask for parts for a 76 and they'll know exactly what I'm talking about. The first question is always "Has it got a disk?" they only made 10 with a disk brake. Just found another listed on an American site. You can see the black 10" drum brake clearly on this one. ![]() From Bottom right on this page http://classicshack.com/Motorcycle_Photos_Triumph.html They are lovely bikes just a little revvy. The one I restored has a polished and balanced crankshaft so is very smooth. it just doesn't seem right revving an old bike through to 7k but it loves it and goes very well. Faster than an R80 BMW and handles like it's on rails, the brakes are better than R80 brakes as well. Theyre look to be the same spec as the 74's

Nice Goldy. Been thinking of doing my clubman up with the Catalina Scrambler Blue or the classic Alloy tank.

A lot of people were converting scramblers/Catalinas into Clubmans over the years but the former seems to be getting a bit more love recently. Good luck with the project.
