My Rocket3 I inherited from my father when he passed away. My dad bought it new in '72 I believe. Dad passed away in 83 and I sold it in '90. I've spent the last 20+ years regretting it every day. I'd love to buy it back if the opportunity ever presents itself. But the reality of it is....

Here are a couple of photos of my 72 Triumph TR6. Its' been resurrected twice.
A friend of mine gave it to me several years ago, it was a real basket case. "Really" some of the parts were in a large plastic basket. Took me almost a year to reassemble it and get it back on the road. Then Hurricane Katrina submerged it under 20 feet of water. It sat in about 3 feet of water for almost a month before I could get it out. Lost several other bikes along with some cars. I was determnied to salvage my Triumph so I took it down, cleaned everything and stored the parts. I started slowly rebuilding it again from the frame up. The saltwated had did a number on most of the bike. (You may notice the front disc brake, it's from a newer model) Last year I finally got it back on the road again. It's a sweet ride and I guarantee I will not leave it again!!! ![]() Zapgarou 72 Triumph TR6RV5 75 BMW R90S 72 Zundapp MC 125 |

the motherlode ride
Each month there's a ride in northern Ca.
BSAOCNC I try to make it on the motherlode ride cause it's "in my back yard". There are other makes of bikes as opposed to BSA only. I rode my Triumph one year... ![]() And... This is an excellent opportunity to once again post my motherload ride video. Shown from aboard my B50... (hope you can get past the distracting music) And as an added interest... I later found on youtube a posting by some one else showing me as the 5th rider, inside line, rounding turn one in part 2 of my video...

I hear ya. There’s a group here in the Puget Sound area call VME (Vintage Motorcycle Enthusiasts) who hold a poker run every summer. Last summer I came across one that was done up in Orange. Knowing the limited numbers of this body style imported into the US, let alone here in the Pacific Northwest, I waited to see if the owner would come by. I wanted to know if they knew the full history of the bike I was looking at. They never did come by before I had to leave. I couldn’t help but wonder if I was somehow looking over the ghost of my father.

one of which is i hate it when people paint great vintage bikes weird colors they would never have been painted originally. IMO there's stock, and there's custom- but there is very little ground between the two.

Always looked strange to me how the header pipes on the Ariel Square Four go right into the heads with no collar. You would think one of those star shaped cooling collars would help.
Thanks for the pics.
