Cool2 Harry Baja

I found a spot on the Dual Sport BC bus for a trip down to Baja California in January.
For those of you who have ridden with or know the club, they are a great group of people who put on spectacular rides with awsome hospitality. They truely love to ride, and you had better be prepared to do some miles.
After the dust settled, we had put on over 1600 miles in 12 days of riding some the most beautiful terrain central Baja has to offer.

Six bikes and riders made this years trip,

Gordon; KTM450
John;KTM450
Greg;KTM450
Bob;Beta400
Matt;Honda450X
Me;DRZ400

When the bus picks you up, it is an inmates dream come true
.
Load your ride of choice in the back,

and kick back and watch some motorcycle videos,

but be prepared to do your turn driving.

We arrive in El Rosario on Saturday morning January 15. We will leave the bus here at Mama Espinosa's, and zig zag our way down the penensula to the town of Mulege, staying in hotels at various towns along the way.
It's too late in the day to start our journey, so we use the day to make sure the bikes are loaded properly, and venture off to play.
Gordon and Matt checking gear.

We find sand dunes,

and work our way to the Pacific.

Next day we are up early for breakfast and we work our way down the coast. the main highway through Mexico is Mex 1, everything else is a dirt/gravel affair that the locals use for transportation from town to town. These 50mph dirt roads are our playground as we work our way down the coast.

Our navigator Bob has done his homework, the tides are out and he suggests a beach run south.
We pop out on a deserted beach south of Punta Baja and roll onto the sand.

Reaching speads of 83mph, I can't describe how exhilirating this beach ride is.

But with with every high, there is a low point, you have to get off of the beach somewhere
Gordon gets buried.
