I'm not sure where Whale Gulch is, but I just moved onto the Lost Coast Hwy (in Petrolia- literally! I live across the street from the store) and I can vouch for the fun factor on King's peak Road, connecting to Usal Rd down to hwy 1 north of Ft Bragg near Rockport. When you come thru town, stop and you'll probably be able to talk me into riding south for a ways w/y'all! Look for the MotoMedic van and the KTM 950!

damn, don't that look tasty!!!

So, the closest In-N-Out to Seattle in in Redding, CA. My plan is to either leave Seattle Friday night or EARLY Saturday morning and do a day of super slab into Redding. Eat a burger. On Sunday, I want to hit hwy 3 from Red Bluff to Yreka then Hwy 96 from Yreka to Arcata, then see what time permits. If there is enough time in the day I may try to hit the Lost Coast Hwy south of Arcata and maybe camp on the coast.

Monday I'd head home.

It'll be mixed camping and motels, and mostly slab.

anyone??

I know of an Iron Butt Harley rider that travels all the way from San Francisco to Idaho somewhere to get a burger. Must be some burger! Anyone know of this infamous burger joint?

This should be it. Never been there, but the guys on the LDrider list mention it every year.
