It was indescribably dangerous.

My grandfather, who rode H-Ds in this stuff, once told me that you never wanted to lowside. The bike would dig in to the boards ahead of you and make bloody great splinters, which would then impale you as you slid along at 90mph-plus.

After that: if you were lucky, you died immediately.
