I picked up a set of K60's from these guys last spring for my GS. I rode all over AK then back to Colorado, put a ton of miles on them during the summer and I still have good tread left. They have squared off a bit but not any worse than the other dual sport tires I have riden. They are a lot better than the Tourances on the dirt and just as good on the pavement.
I definitely recommend Adventure Cycleworks! They will bend over backwards to solve any problems you run into and love to share their knowledge of the state. ![]() FYI - When I got to Fairbanks and switched to the K60's my old tires had enough life left I didn't want to just throw them away. These guys taped them together and gave me a shipping lable. I shipped them home to Colorado snail mail from the North Pole post office for $30. For those planning a trip this worked out to be a great option and Adventure Cycleworks will give you a great price on tires.

Hey Dan and Shawn,
Loved hanging out at your place last year for a couple of days (one before, one after Dalton). I still owe Dan a bottle of Crown Royal....I won't forget it. My Heidenau's are still on the bike, 10K miles later. I never run them higher than 34PSI and they are awesome tires. Planning another Atlanta, GA to Deadhorse run in 2013 so hope to spend some time with you guys next July. Keep up the great work! Matt

Deals for ADVer's-of course,
I'll pull/mount/balance/reinstall while you watch in 1/2hr for lift ride/time. Which rear tire, the Heidenau K60 or K76???? What front tire do you plan on running on your R1200GS?

Looking at just the rear at this time (150/70/17 K60). I've heard the TKC is still a better choice for the front. I'll do the mount/balance myself.

Alot of folks are running that combo. The only downside I see to it is having to listen to that TKC howl on pavement/hardpack. On the other side, running a K60 on front, the downside I've found is about a 5mph drop on gravel before that little voice tells you to slow down.

Shoot us an e-mail for your tire of choice & we'll send you an invoice. Shipping in AK-extra Sorry-No shipping out of Alaska. I strongly suggest cleaning/wire brushing the rim/bead seat of any rubber off the rim & lubing the rim & tire to mount any Heidenau. If the temperature is 60deg F-preheating works wonders.

Gee Dan, you change a few thousand tires and you start to get the hang of things.
I'm still trying to get 1/4 as efficient on my NoMar as you are. Might have to stop by this summer and watch for awhile.

Already have mine on hold with you. I (Scott Blake) can't wait to have them on the bike, mainly because that means I'll be in Alaska. Look forward to meeting you guys and trying out those K60's |

GregsBro/Scott,
Your Heidenau's are warm/awaiting your arrival. Ambient this AM in the interior is -22F. A couple months it will be green.

Heidenaus work in South America
Have no idea how these tires work north of the Equator but down here in Uruguay I have a pair on my BMW F800GS and they are fantastic. Two long trips and they feel wonderful. Heidenaus are great tires. Just my opinion. I'll be visiting you guys in July to see the sights.

Over 1200 miles on my Heidenau rear and it still looks new. Very good grip on the pavement, I haven't given it much of a try on the dirt yet. Only gripe is they feel pretty slick hitting wet tar snakes, more so than the stock Tourance. No real complaints overall. Longevity looks to be much better than the TKCs.
