Half way between Napier and Wairoa I think. It's a shitty peice of road, but a bit different to the Devils Staircase. The Staircase doesn't quite get as much traffic.

I suspect that the Devils Staircase is a lot safer.

I've seen some completely moronic driving (people passing on blind corners etc - impatient arseholes) on the road between Wairoa and Napier.

Would be a great run on a bike if you could get rid of the cars and trucks

thats it, tight down hill hair pin that you dont want to hit under breaking with nude front tire on trace oil patch right on the corner left by some stinking stock truck . Ironically only damage (apart from destroyed ADV trow and jacket - friction burnt from sliding accross the road) was a sore "elbow" which still plays up in bad weather...dang nabit

at least with there being so many it doesnt seem to matter if you use the odd one for traction
