If it's like the 990a, there is a magnet on the side stand which sends a signal (hall effect). So you can't splice the wires at the side stand. Craig at Cjdesigns has them as well.
But you're building your machine off a 950 frame (if I remember correctly) so you don't have the magnet. It must be in the new wiring harness.
