If no luck with the plane, try to ID the Princess that piloted it.

Even with all those clues I still haven't found it, or the possibly Romanian princess.

Scratch that, I just found it. Messerschmitt M23b flown by Romanian princess Marina Ştirbey.

Edit: ICAR Universal, a Romanian copy of the Messerschmitt.

Is that a Liberty V-12 motor in there?

It looks like a variant of the DH.9

Not a de Havilland aircraft.

Only a couple dozen were produced. The original trimotor ones were followed by a twin Liberty aircraft, then a few single engine Liberty aircraft like the one shown.

Adding "twin" to the search terms didn't make it any easier. Thanks for the clues just the same.

I have to check out for now, but I'm fishing for another one. Is that a pressurized cockpit/open cabin? It's a nice looking plane.

It ended up being a nice air ambulance. I do not think the cabin was pressurized.

Just a shot in the dark here, but i thought I'd ask the experts.

Four planes flew over my home today in formation. Two were yellow, and two were silver and in Air Force livery. They were hauling ass, and running a lot more rpms than the Texans that I often see. The wings on them reminded me of a P-51, but the rear "wing" was mounted high on the vertical fin. Any ideas?
