ONLY TUBES I WILL USE

I've never had a flat with one since 1986.

To be honest, I'm not that sure.
I've held the front brake on and bounced the front to see what may come close.
There's quite a bit of travel available.
This bike is more for the unsealed road type riding with a few 4wheel drive tracks thrown in.
The 525 will be the weapon of choice for the really rough stuff.
Having said that, front travel clearance will be something to watch.
Cheers.

I ask, because I have measured mine as best I could, and it seems to have little more an eighth inch to spare. And, I do bottom now and then, so I must maintain clearance.

Please post anything you might find out- I could certainly use some reduction in height.

What was your method of measurement?
Did you tie it down to compress the forks perhaps?
any measurements won't be accurate unless we measure the same thing the same way.

Then you don't want to see what I'm upto today (and over the next few weeks/months.. I'm going to be making a bunch of very big changes)

Today I'm making a mess:

Most motorcycles I've owned have "press fit" headbearings.. I real pain in the arse (you have to punch them in/out really carefully).

Note to self: With the KTM, once you take the top nut off... be ready on the bottom as it just falls out
(the race would still need to be pounded out).

ie. remove the fender and stuff first dummy

Lucky bastard. I've had plenty of flats with Michelin UHD tubes. Nails go through them just as easily...

I knew it was coming, you hoser! (I think that was the first one, when it was still novel enough to take a picture... That WAS a UHD).

My bike is running again! New fuel filters, rerouted vent hoses, ignition wire fix... Now for my first crack at Tune ECU to get this thing running optimally.

With the front wheel off the ground, I measured from the fork seal to the bottom of the slider, then compared that measurement with the distance between the top of the fender, and the triple clamp. My suspension has 9" of travel, and the room over the fender measures 9". The slider distance measures 9 1/8".
