i'm betting we'll be seeing some ADV'd standard and sport bikes in the future with that 120-17" being available.

Just watched the MCN review of Versys 1000 vs BMW vs Tiger. Pretty good review, I wished they covered more, but it goes show all three machines in action. The link is below.
http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/Ne...kes-on-rivals/ Now I am torn..do get the S10 or the Versys 1000...decisions, decisions...anybody else have experience with both of these bikes? |

I have just had the same dilemma, and I picked up my S10 this morning. I never got to ride a Versys but the quality of the S10 did it for me. It looked and felt integrated, where the Versys was full of compromises and bits from the Kawa parts bin. I reckon that it would go like stink though.

Motorcycle Sport & Leisure published a review and seem to love this bike. Cover blurb being "It's fast, easy, upright. It's brilliant to ride". They did mention the fork as feeling a big vague, but stated that a big piston fork with 6" of travel isn't going to feel like a sport bike (which, given the other attributes like power, some might have been expecting) and you'd probably get used to it.
Reportedly very comfortable: "I can't remember the last time I rode a bike and felt as comfortable as I did on the launch. It felt easy to ride and had the oomph to plant a smile on my face with I asked it to." Nothing bad noted. |

Or us old farts! My FZ1 isn't extreme, but I'm looking for more upright, and more "all-rounder". Mind, they also mentioned exceptional steering and a motor that will grunt but still rev. It's a Kawasaki, after all...

this may be 205, but it's a pretty good video. Apparently the V1000 handles pretty well.
I hope it comes to the States!

from the 9 bike "Adventure" bike test from MOTOCICLISMO Italy....
http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...9#post18193869 On road day 2 Quote:
Only Mrs Kawasaki could bear the looks but very popular on the bitumen amongst the testers for balance and neutral handling. Day 7 Quote:
The Ducati is fast, exciting stable powerful, but is a bit on edge, and keeps you on your toes, not great in the tight stuff. The SM-T is gutless, unstable, [just exaggerating folks ] easy, but it likes the tight twisties. The Kawasaki is somewhere in between. Very interesting... Cheers Graham
